I am sitting here in the Chicken garden and it struck me that Babs is quite a skillful landscape architect.
It is a bit hard to see, but she has cleared an area of the Artemisia to create a sort of protected outdoor chicken room.

There is a thick wall of Artemisia to the South which she has never tried to eat, the Chicken Palace to the North, my chair to the East, and to the West a tunnel into the Butterfly Bush.
What is so striking is that her cleared area coincides exactly with cover from the tree so they are almost totally hidden in the little dell she has created.

) but little as she is, holds her ground against the bullies. She’s more chook than I can handle sometimes. She’s not a lap chicken but she’ll stand next to you and beg for treats. Sadly she’s got a smaller fluffy tail than most fluffy butts I have seen.
