Well, I have to break the news somehow.
I will tell you, although this is through many tears on my side.
Lhicken is not here anymore. She is gone. I am cremating her even though there is a fire ban.
So sorry, it is very hard to go through losing our animal friends, we all have been there too :hugs :hugs :hugs
I agree with @rural mouse , you don’t have to change anything right away, keeping her name for your user name for awhile could be a form of remembrance for her, a way of honoring her. Then when you’re ready, a new name may come to you naturally, and it won’t be a hard thing to do. Give yourself the grace of time. Time and self-compassion, self-care - often by caring for all your other chickens - are your best way through this. :hugs :hugs

Seems like it is not only Hattie who loves it! Poor Phyllis got lots of crumbs in her topknot - maybe it is a good place to store them to eat later!
:gig
She will shake those out later for a snack. 😆

Girls, there will be a hatch day party for Hen-Rietta July 6 11:00 am pst. You are all invited to join us. There will be a cornbread cake and outdoor activities for everyone. Tulare County rural
Route 144 . Dress casual :D 🥳
If only I could afford the airfare, they would be there

Aww so cute. I love Hattie, as usual
And Hattie loves cornbread. That was her second one. She even got off the roost for those cornbreads which is something at her age she doesn't do often. It has to be worth it.

Look What I Found Today!

I have no idea why they switched back to blue but who am I to question.

I grabbed Mr P and gave him a trim up for his hair do, I am getting quite aggressive about yanking out blood feathers, after cutting one off once and having a devil of a time finding it to yank out when cut, now I just haul them out.

Apparently if you haul out a bleeding blood feather it will stop bleeding faster.

I will trim his nails and spurs another night.
She probably wonder what was that weird dream!
