I think that she is a Speckled Sussex and her name is Goneril.

The breeder says that they have 97 percent accuracy on sexing, so hopefully just some early wattle development.

If I remember correctly, both Nox and Mera got a pale pink bit and nothing more until they were getting close to laying.

Did you know that blue eggs are blue on the inside of the shell also

Check your green eggs next time you crack them open, I bet they are white shelled on the inside.

Nope - they are light blue on the inside. Green eggs have both blue and brown pigment - but the brown is on the outside only - the blue is mixed throughout the shell.

So green eggs and ham are...oops, green egg shells are blue on the inside & green on the outside.

Yup I can confirm, all my greens are blue on the inside.

They should be blue (must remove the membrane). Green eggs are blue with a brown coating.

That said, don't look too long at this picture - I have been having dizzy spells when getting up and/or sitting/laying down. Looking at this picture this evening - I started to get dizzy just sitting here!

Yep I was not expecting it at all! The only thing I can think is that Mr P’s base colour would be classified as a white silver spangle, which appears as yellow or ‘dirty’ feathers. I am betting that Martina’s spangles will get better when she molts.

I have her a hair cut tonight and noted she has a comb, and what looks like wattles coming on. Should I be worried - I don’t have any experience with comb and wattles - also when o was trimming her she screamed blue murder just like her Dada!!! She sounded just like him. Now I am freaked out worried she is a he…..

Prior to her trim, she didn't have Einstein or Christopher Lloyd hair

I don’t mind them roosting there but the little nuggets they drop down my back are just freaking me out!

Gosh it’s just too bad Bob was so far away, I would bring him some of Marty’s and Henny Penny’s Polish x Silkie eggs to hatch if he had a broody

Bob needs to talk me into a road trip! Or a rendezvous so I can give him some eggs

I am not opposed to a little rendezvous to swap eggs. Could be fun. First we need Phyllis to go broody though. She showing absolutely no interest in doing so. I worried I may have broke her with the lone chick that did not survive last year. She may no longer have any interest in being a mum.

It's been hard to catch up with traveling. I want to share some update on my flock.

Tina has been sick. She laid a lashed egg about 2 weeks ago. She just finished a course of 10 day antibiotics. She is not better.

She perked up a bit today but before that she was not moving much at all. My husband has been thinking where to dig her grave. He said he has come to terms with it. He spends a lot of time with her. I'm really sad that I won't be there when it comes the time.

Due to Tina's weakness, she has started to be bothered by other chickens.

Meimei was chasing poor Tina in the yard.
Shortly after, Wendy, the alpha, was fighting Meimei.
Meimei, being the junior, did not submit. So the two had a serious fight.
Light wanted to help Wendy, but Wendy did not want it.
Foxy, meimeis only ally, helped meimei.

In the end Wendy won.

Thanks, I will keep an eye on her. She is definitely more pink than the others, but they are all different breeds.
