Well, he did only agree to let Willow set if you had a home for the Chicks...so he never wanted you to keep them. I know you were hoping, but sometimes there are things that affect that that adults don't share.

:hugs :hugs :hugsHugs for you

:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugsHugs for your dad. You probably don't realize it, but you constantly asking for chicks probably upsets him because he has to repeatedly say 'no'.

It is just as hard (or harder) being a parent as it is being a kid. Maybe different problems/issues, but neither is a cake walk.

My tax for off topic:

Sometimes even Chickens think it is a S^%*ty deal!
Family Chicken GIF by HBO Max
That was epic hahahaha 😁

@Pastel The Rooster is probably off for a bit because she's upset. Honey, if you see this, I hope things get better. I know parents seem awfully unfair at times, and sometimes they even are unfair, but one thing I can guarantee is they do what they do for a reason and that reason is NOT because they want you unhappy. Cherish the birds you have. Let us know how they, and you, are doing.

Thanks everyone for the clamp ideas. I'll have some that are small but mighty that might do the trick.

Do you fine folks mind one more question? It's still pretty warm, 94 last I checked. The 3 in the coop are fine. My husband suggested we just leave Sheba in the house and take her out to the coop tomorrow night. I'm afraid she'll need to come back tomorrow, and I'll be alone until 10 pm.

Would there be an issue you can think of, confining her two days and a night?

Confined alone?

Generally they prefer to be with their friends so if she has recovered I would probably put her back outside.
An alternative is to bring a friend in to keep her company. I have never done that but others do so.

Oh no! I hope we haven't driven @Pastel The Rooster off. I do hope she comes back and realizes that her Dad is probably not being deliberately mean but has to balance lots of things she may not even be aware of.
