I feel like I'm always benefiting from this thread way more than I contribute.

Thank you for the advice @bgmathteach he is massaging her a lot while giving her coconut oil. He thinks he was giving her too much at one point that light absolutely refused it. WILL NOT OPEN HER BEAK no matter how hard he tried.

I will tell him about raw egg, chick food and baby human food! Very helpful.

No one is keeping score. Just pay it forward when you get the chance.

Poor Coco, she’s really scared of the fireworks going off around here tonight.
Bangs, explosions, gun fire.
I have music on to cover the sounds but she jumps whenever a boom happens.
I can’t go out and tell an entire neighborhood, not to light off illegal fireworks or gunshots, ( because it’s bothering my chicken)
It will quiet down soon enough.

Tina passed away on June 25th. Husband cried all day and I have never seen him cry since I met him. (I still haven't since I'm not home)

He was a wreck and did not want to talk to me for days, until he suspected honey had a sour crop issue.

He treated Honey with the protocol (cream for yeast infection). But the next day he confirmed Light has impacted crop. He cannot afford to lose light right now so his stress was through the roof. View attachment 3566409

Good news is that Honey is back to normal after three days treatment. Light has only improved slightly. The weird thing is that light is super energetic and full of life. She ate a bit today.

He also called vets around and was comforted to hear that he can always bring light to a vet in Raleigh (2 hours away) for having crop surgery if it comes down to that.

Im pretty sure light will be fine. I would appreciate if you can keep light in good thoughts.

Oh I miss my flock. I shouldn't be away for this long.

Here in Italy where I live average wine costs as low as 2.50€ that are more than 20$ in America, but really good bottles can cost up to 8€. However with some types of Amarone that is well over 5 star quality can cost 80€ here. However in the US it's over 200$!

It's crazy the price differences between our countries.

It's so very sad when they leave us. I'm sorry for the loss you are both feeling right now.

I used the canesten cream which I think would be the same as the protocol. It worked a treat

I hope you can clear Lights crop. Bob may have a few suggestions

Weird occurrence at bed time . I was putting the pups in the kennel and heard a commotion in the bantam coop next to the garage. This is Chinito's tribe. He is the frizzle bantam rooster. A different rooster and hen were putting a beat down on a third rooster. He was on the ground in the corner. They were pecking his head and neck strongly. I broke it up and brought him in our house. Not a bunch of blood but he was definitely punch drunk. Let him calm down tonight and do a thorough check tomorrow. He must have crossed the wrong bird but usually this group is very relaxed with no fighting.

How is he today? Poor little thing
Are you going to move him from that group?
