A few days ago, I brought Pastel on my porch to give him a mani-pedicure.
I was walking up the stairs, when I stopped cold.
There was a huge snake on the top step, slithering off the step into the bushes.
The second I saw it, my brain went to work identifying it. Yellow Rat Snake. Non-venomous. Likes to sneak into coop and steal eggs. Haha, that's how my brain works.
I waited until it was almost completely into the bushes before I gave it a little nudge. I just poked its tail, and it fell off the steps into the foliage.
I then walked up the stairs into my porch. I grabbed the dog nail clipped, and clipped the points off of Pastel's spurs.
That was the same day he charged at me a few days ago, and when I picked him up I felt his spurs, and one was razor sharp. I just trimmed it back a few centimeters, until it started to get too thick to cut.
I didn't want to split his spur. He is a good boy though. I probably would have stepped on the snake if it wasn't for him. I only looked down because I noticed Pastel looking at something and tid-bitting. -I think that's what it's called...
