Moulting has started to happen with last year's chicks, Jaffarra is starting and she is most unhappy. Pepper-Larry is in the middle of moulting and is a 'tail-less' wonder, Cayenne is about finished and is starting to look lovely, poor Daisy is slowly moulting...

The Noirans and the Polish chicklets have started losing tail and wing feathers going through their tween moult.

My barn looks like a feather factory!

Half dark clown car

And other side of the equation

Awwww - they want to stay in bed where it's a bit warmer! My older girls do that in the morning also. They sure didn't want to get up this morning it was rather chilly even in the barn.

The daily morning stampede never gets old does it.

It’s chilly here today, and the baldies (those moulting) are not happy to be outside, even with the sun. The wind is cold!

Pepper-Larry was leaning against the old gazebo sides to absorb some warmth, and then decided to sunbathe a bit with Cash.

Poor Misty is still a mass of pin feathers.

I finally gave in a broke out the warmer footwear, which freaked out the poor chicks!

They have my sympathy. I don’t like getting up when it is cold and dark either!

I bought the pumpkins. Three for $5.25 now if only I could get the chooks interested. 🤔🎃🎃🎃

Mine wouldn’t initially have anything to do with them either.

I cut away the rind in the eye nose mouth spots and then they started pecking at it.

Once they Figured out there were seeds inside well that was a game changer! The race was on to peck through and get them.

See if you can cut one in half and see if they go for the seeds and insides of the pumpkin.
