I have 4 buff Orps and 4 cuckoo marans.

Oh that’s wonderful! Marans and BO are wonderful chickens, and those dark Marans eggs are great

They are! I have a buff orpington now, and I used to have marans! They are really good for my climate.

I'll give that a try. But they have to go in the larger pen for at least a while. I can't keep them in that tiny space.

I guess I've completely misunderstood everything I've been told. I was asked if I could put them in a brooder run and in return I asked if something in the coop would do. I could have sworn that idea got a thumbs-up. I mean, I have to put them somewhere. I can't just toss them in the main coop and I can't isolate them away from the rest of the flock...so what is the alternative?

Between this and work, my brain hurts. I'll bbl.

I think we all assumed you were asking if the brooder was ok for the setting and hatching. Guess we were all just so eggcited (well I was at any rate) about her hatching her eggs. We didn’t think ahead!

I think you will be fine to put her and her chickies in the other pen for a week or so. Safety first!
