My parents had said no more chooks inside...Sometimes things have to just slide....
Yep, I haven't brought any chooks in since 2019!My parents had said no more chooks inside...
My Dad sort of relented and just says "I don't want any problems", referring to poop on the floor (which usually lands on my lap or desk anyways).
I only carry them inside when a chook is sick or there is extreme heat outsideYep, I haven't brought any chooks in since 2019!

I guess that is very true!View attachment 3598237
The words "not inside" does not exist in chicken vocabulary. Besides, my door is right in the backyard, making it easy for them to just waltz right on in.
Same goes for "Don't eat styrofoam", "Don't eat that", "Don't go there", or "Don't poop here".I guess that is very true!

She is slowly going downhill I think. I had noticed a slight clicking sound from her when I first got her out, and now I see she is gasping when she wakes up, that's the sound.I had a similar thing with one of the Bielefelder chicks, and it seemed that the chick starter was just to big for them to eat well. I crushed some up and they went crazy for it. The one weaker chick I fed honey water every hour for about a day and a half and she perked right up, and that along with the finer crumble feed turned her right around.
Sometimes a little extra time with those babies is helpful; of course if it is a 'failure to thrive' due to some developmental issue then there won't be much one can do other than support it as best one can. Chicks are so fragile and no guarantees with them.
