Butters update - still hanging in, weighing now 2 lbs 12 oz, versus 15 oz last week, so maybe she's holding on. She is acting much more hungry and and wanting to eat more, and telling Popcorn to keep away from whatever she's eating, but still not ending up eating very much. I am still tube feeding her 30ml once a day now, with added coconut oil.

I set up a little feed bowl for her after I saw her standing in the treadle and looking unsure about eating, or leaning in to eat. She likes the bowl. Since then I've observed her using the treadle okay. She is very picky about eating. Might try a mash with her today, from your and @BY Bob 's recommendation earlier today.

I found more fibrous pieces, but dried this time, in the poop tray and roost bars the other day, took pics and I hope she's done with that, if that's what was or is the problem. Her spirit was very much improved that day, so it helped at least to pass them. The one I didn't get a picture of, picture a woman's pinky about two inches long, then it quickly narrowed to six inches of stringy fiber.

Three groups of poop on the poop tray, though there was stringy fiber in two places as if she moved, and I put that together for the picture. Two angles.

I'm no expert but better out than in.

I don't know how I'd have coped without Bob RC and PonyPoor.
We are so lucky to have their guidance.

Moved them out of the room with the old brooder box, maybe the air isn't good, and I'm going to dismantle it.

I agree with @Marie2020 on that!
It really looks like she has been eating something problematic - wood pulp of some sort.
I think oil and grit and mash are just the ticket for her!

On the littles, can you get a new cardboard box for them? I know people use them successfully but I always worry with plastic totes about air flow. Like would CO2 build up inside the tote because there isn’t a way for fresh air to come in.
Drilling some holes low down in the tote would solve that but I don’t know how to stop the edges being sharp. Or cutting out one side entirely and trplacing with mesh with a cardboard frame to cover the cut parts of the tote.
I am probably over worrying - but a big cardboard box that hasn’t been where there might be mold does feel more airy!

I gave this a heart because I am hoping that that was her problem, and that she will continue to improve - her weight does bother me - she has nothing left if she has a bit of a set-back - but everything else sounds like it is progress. :hugs 🙏 :hugs

I've skimmed many pages and will do a few replies. It's so hard to keep up!

What an absolutely beautiful bird! Thanks for offering to catch me up...I'll muddle thru this time. :)

Im so very sorry! :hugs

Nah...we're just obstinate. ;)

How adorable!!! I'm jealous of anyone who gets good chick shots! My speedy like stinkers are generally blurs!

My pasta recipe takes 4! I think our definitions of small batches differ. ;) I do love fresh pasta!

So tried to get some shots of the triplets but they're FAST. Even munchies don't slow them down. I'm trying to look at combs and wattles... though I know at 3 weeks it's impossible to sex them. Here's a very few pics I managed. Uno stays far away from the camera. Most only show Dos and Tres. Mom simply refuses to let me touch one. I hold out treats and she puts herself squarely between us.

The triplets are getting big and they look so beautiful!

Horse show tonight. Was hoping to have Rosie's new shirt she ordered but something came up and they will not be there. Will deliver it to me one day this week. Yes I should be school shopping but have a great start on it. As Rosie said anyway, what is to stop her from wearing this to school as well. Now she wants a hoodie made too.

She was definitely blocked up. Hopefully she can clear it all now.
