What happened to your guineas @Pastel The Rooster ?

Two of my hens died on Sunday. They were sick for a few days and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I finally figured out it was Coccidiosis and rushed out to TSC to get Corrid. When I got back, Eclipse was already dead. I gave Frost corrid, but a few hours later i noted her neck was lolled as she was laying down. I picked her up and sat down with her because she was still alive. I started crying and hugging her and she started having death spasms in my arms and died.

They were both super special, but Frost was an awesome guinea. Maybe it's because her mom is my favorite guinea in the world, but I just feel awful. I feel like I let them down.

Thanks. Day by day its getting better. I just still feel that lost feeling. I just have been feeling awful.

I'd be chuffed to be honest. I hate my carpet

I really thought I had brushed up against my cactus, took a couple seconds for me to realize it was wasps.

I still haven’t don’t anything yet to the nest I keep forgetting, but I do need to get it taken care of as I need to get in there and cut the grass and tear out some weeds.

I'm so very very sorry this happened. It is a deeply moving experience when they pass in your arms.

I meant the outside of the tube. I liberally doused it with lubricant (coconut oil) on the outside so itbwould slip down easier.

Yes that’s what I mean, the outside of the tube is greasy wet about four inches up, because I semi-curl the tube in the mixing cup to lower the top hole (measured it this morning, it’s an inch from the very end of the tip) while it sucks up the gruel. I made about twice as much as I needed yesterday to makes sure it got no air.

I cried myself to sleep for the first time since my dog died in April last night. Yesterday was an awful day. I miss those two sweet guinea girls already. Their poor brother is a mess. There is another male and one female in the cage. The male is higher in the pecking order. That's news to me though, because he is special needs.

It was so weird feeding my "baby" guineas without Frost jumping onto the bucket for food, and Eclipse pushing herself up against me because she was shy. I just wished that they would have made it nine teen more days. Just until the 25th of August. That is their hatchday. And my birthday. That's one reason they were so special.

When I gave their clutch mates away, I kept Frost and Eclipse because I adored them. Turns out that I just killed them. I'm just so devastated. It didn't help seeing how everyone on here (pretty much) has lost a bird ( or more ) JUST THIS WEEK. I am still in shock. I wish I could bring them back. I hate that they died.

I hope that everyone is doing okay. Please stay safe in this awful weather. It's too dangerous. Try to keep your chooks safe. You are more important though.
