It is pouring rain, has been all morning. Branch has already made sure he is soaking wet doing rooster things this morning. I do not care, I need to bring my therapy chicken inside for a bit.

I am just going to leave this here.

It takes a special kind of person to wait until Rosie is ready to go out the door and wait for the bus on picture day to inform her that her new haircut looks terrible. Instant meltdown from Rosie and I let grandma have it with both barrels. Thankfully the bus was late so I was able to calm Rosie down and not have her get on the bus in tears. The 2nd day back to school and she has started the same crap again.
:hugs
I have great confidence that Rosie will look wonderful in her picture.

That was supposed to say 'didn't try to clobber them'... sheesh auto correct
I have nearly given up on spelling ‘gave’ correctly because it is always changed to ‘have’.
I have sort of mentally accepted that have is the correct spelling of gave so I no longer even see the error myself now!

Ummm. At the risk of being told to mind my own business, I think you should get someone to look at that eye of yours. Emergency room? Eye doctor?
Yes I will be going in there right after I clean stalls. It's worse than when Rico pecked me. I will go to Emerg as getting appt with my eye dr will be impossible he is always so busy.

I have only myself to blame, I get too close and personal and let them walk all over me (literally) and they get too comfortable around me. Good thing I can type well, most of the time I have my eyes closed hahahaha!

I almost ran over Petunia with the wheelbarrow just now I was walking with my eyes closed, heard this squawk and she ran out from under the barrow. I am taking a break drinking my tea and of course I have company with Tippy - she loves to sit by my feet for some odd reason. Likely it's safer in here away from the randy roos.

Very glad you are going. Now how about before you clean the stalls?

Awww poor Rosie - tell her that hair is a great way to express one's self - and it grows back in if you don't like it (tattoos not so easy :) ).

I fell for Rosie but I also feel for your Gran who is obviously ill, as it is Rosie's second day at School I am sure no one has said anything at school so I am sure she will be fine.

Sending a thousand hugs her way.

Thirsty chickens.
I love my two green chickens and look how much bigger Tassels is compared to Calypso.
And I just can’t resist group drinking shots.

Lovely group of chickens. I hear you have heard crowing so I was scrutinizing them. 3rd picture, white and black chicken. How about a full body close up shot of that one. I cannot zoom in close enough to tell for certain, but I would like to be able to see if those are sickle feathers I am spotting or just a illusion with the markings.

Leav her with them then. She'll help intro them to the rest
I just worry she will really tear into them, if it was Curly I wouldn't have any worries. But Fluffy can be a real terror when she wants to be, her and Marty - for small birds they sure are evil little demons!

Anyways I kicked her out and she is in laying an egg - another reason I don't want her in there - teaching them to lay eggs everywhere! I put the small crate in there for them to 'lay and egg in'. So far they have ignored it so guess yep they are not ready to lay. Which is fine with me - the longer they don't lay I think the better it is for them. I really need to read up on this strain again (when I can see straight ha!).

re: beaks - yes I am hoping once they get outside they will scrape off any sharp edges on the bricks. mine love scraping their beaks on the bricks (hence the wounded eye), I am just so furious at the condition of them, they look so ratty and their poor beaks like that - just furious. My chicks I got from Hoovers are wonderful, I didn't have any issues with them, I expected that Frey's would also have excellent quality. But I guess what can one expect from a factory. I could cry for all the other poor chickens - I try not to think of it, and make sure my menagerie is happy and thriving.
