Because frozen ground isn't good for trees needing to settle in.Yes she has been getting foods that she loves!
Why not planting mulberry now? Fall is the better season to plant.
Fall planting in areas where the ground doesn't freeze solid works incredibly well. In places where the day time high temp is below freezing most of the winter, it's incredibly iffy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When getting fruit producing trees, it's usually a BAD thing.
Spring, even with frost still possible tends to be better for planting trees. Now if they have new growth on them.....don't plant until the established trees start showing new growth.
