Ask Rural Mouse who’s winters can be far more brutal than mine.

I would make sure drafts are covered, plenty of air flow otherwise, fresh food and water daily and they should be fine. Chickens are tough.
Especially some Roosters are tough too!: IMG_3339.jpeg

Wonderful beautiful chickens. 😍View attachment 3643388
That is definitely a 'Hey, you taking a picture of me, human servant???? I'm in full-on molt, how dare you?? Note, this is my indignant look! Have you not learned this yet?"

(she mutters something under her breath about the darn paparazzi)

I’m going to have to give this decision much thought 🤔. More chooks, is more love, more eggs, less room, a lot more 💩 poop. ……… Okay, thinking time is over, I gotta get more chooks. I see my doctor on Monday and if she says I’m okay then I’ll get the chooks on Tuesday. !!!!!!!! Unless I change my mind about it

In winter here the lowest I've seen it get in a few years is 21 degrees. Last year it was in the mid 20s.
That's not nearly cold enough to kill chickens. I don't supply heat at those temperatures. It gets way colder than that here and I have never lost a chicken to cold. It gets below 0°F here.

Are you certain they died from the cold?

I don't know. I could possibly be something else.
