Ok soo. Tomorrow evening I will no longer be silkie hen-less. They actually offered to deliver to me since they know where I live and will be headed my way anyway. I am only getting 1. The other 5 they have available are all boys already crowing.
Without being too much of a skeptic, I hope you don't give them any money until you meet that little silkie in person. There have been some chicken scams which is just awful to get someone's hopes up and then scamper off with their money.

Hoping for the best tax:

Trust me, been there, done that. I will pay her when she drops off the hen. I trust her though. This is also the same person who made and delivered Rosie's show t-shirts this summer.

You got enable-ized. Yay!
The people on here sure do know how to get other to get more chooks, that's for certain.

Mr Pompeii is already exhausted. Enough already.
Poor little man, right now he is laying low with his moulting. He is just a mass of pin feathers, I wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t picked him up he still has a lot of feathers, but wow does he ever have a lot of new ones coming in, I think he has pretty much regrown his head feathers.

Poor guy is getting hard seeing again, and I can’t really do anything until he get those feathers fully grown. He pretty much just hangs out with his original few he likes (Marty, Penelope, and Blanche), he tolerates my other originals, and pretty much ignores all the others.

Sophia’s chicklettea will snuggle with him at night sometimes, but tonight he is snuggling with Henny Penny.

I thought he would try to woo my niece’s hens but they don’t like him and they stay clear of him. They are 5 yrs old so likely have no interest in a handsome younger man 😁

Sophia’s chicks I think may stick near him, and the Azurs are very interested in him but he couldn’t care less about them! I think that’s because he is moulting. And the only ones he runs to when they squawk are Marty, the silkies and Sophia. He ignores the Azures who are very noisy!!

I have stated my flock did not feel complete without a silkie hen. After Chiquita's loss I did not actively look for a replacement hen. I was thinking about starting the search again in the spring but open to the idea if I stumbled across the right one. I have saw a couple semi local posted. I never inquired because they were being sold in pairs or trio's with a roo that had to go with them. I wanted a black hen. She is not solid black, but close enough and she feels right.

This is the one I am getting. At 5 months old, I am very very confident that is a pullet. She is also already named as well once she arrives if her personality matches up with it. Right now, she screams the name "Poppet".
Oh my gosh 💕💕💕 I love her! She is so cute!!!! Love. Love love her 😊

Congratulations and welcome Poppet 🥰

Wow he is a very handsome wee lad!

Happy Thanksgiving BTW, miserable day here today, didn’t get above 5 all day and heavy rain. Not sure if it wouldn’t be better if it snowed it’s so yucky.

I worked Hen House ‘B’ today after I closed the barn up, closed all the windows left Lulus and the back screen door everything else was closed the wind was raw. And of course the chooks refused to go outside so they all stayed in and help with the framing of the new hen house. It’s wonderful having 30 extra pairs of eyes to point out my ‘measure twice cut once’ errors!

BFTP

Eli-too, she has graduated from sitting on the drill to sitting on the round saw.
