I try to toss towards the roos (they do stand back a bit) for several reasons:

1. Spread the marauding horde of feathered velociraptors out a bit.

2. Get said "v" to look at the roos.

3. Let the roos know I'm trying to help them get the girls, not steal the girls.

4. Help me see who doesn't have something to nibble on.
I decided to give them sardines for a treat today and noticed that Cesario's tidbitting call was much more frantic for a higher quality treat. He is really going full-on with the tidbitting now that he is getting older.

It's very interesting watching their interactions. He has been showing the pullets good places to lay (the nest boxes), so maybe that means they are close. First eggs are so exciting!

It’s over! The day went well until it was time for roosting. The hens were still out and about in the yard. I had Jaffar with me, but I can’t handle those hens, but he sure does! They are now all inside the coop. (Only Dakota was still messing around outside, as usual) Jaffar is a good rooster and manages his ladies very nicely. :old :love

I do too (hope she's Pear's Daughter/grandniece as Pear helped raise Storm when she was orphaned).

I'm still completely baffled by Enigma and Quartz. E looks like a classic buff orp, except feathers aren't as fluffy and she has a black tail. unless an extra egg from the in-laws hatched and she's actually from them (Havoc I know is), I'm completely baffled.

Q is snowy white, not a hint of anything else. The only white birds (when eggs accumulated) were Silver (would have at least some Colombian markings) who laid brown eggs, Blanche and PITA who lay white eggs and are splash, and Thing, also white eggs, and the mottled look come out black with the mottling hidden under it in most crosses. As a blue girl, Storm could pop a splash bird (but not with any of my roos). There were 2 brown eggs and a lot of Storm's green eggs. Neither of the brown eggs was shaped like either Nox or Mera's eggs, nor were they shaped like Primula or Belladonna. The only other brown layers: Jessica (not for the white) and Cuckoo (what happened to the barring?)

Cumulo is very similar to Eli-too, that topknot and her sleek shape 😊💕 is she one to fly up onto things?

Oooo awesome! Darn of course my butts are all bare or pin feathers ha!
So are mine ☹️ IMG_3621.jpeg

Please keep us updated on Flash.
Flash’s crop was empty yesterday morning! Woohooo!!! She is in a second stage of molt and didn’t want to be touched today, so I let her be. I remember it taking a looong time to help her through a slow crop before.

This time, over several days before I left on my trip, I did tons of massage with frozen coconut oil, at least two molasses flushes, enzyme capsules, several rounds if tubing fluid with massage. I would give her private feedings of baby bird formula treat since she was getting skinny, and provided damped feed (more like mash) alongside the dry feed. While I was gone, my wonderful neighbor friend provided baby bird formula and made sure she got some daily. I seriously think that probavly kept her from starving.

A couple days after I got home, her crop seemed to be getting worse, so I did LOTS of frozen coconut oil and massage in the morning and tubed a full 60cc of fluid at night, along with more massage (which I did quite carefully since her crop was so full).

Fingers crossed her crop keeps moving! I felt it tonight and it seemed full, but not firm. ❤️

Tell him you need his workbench top, from the garage!
I’m kidding
I do have one in the garage. In the barn I usually have saw-horses, which are also at the garage, so I just use my wheelbarrows to cut on.

They are a perfect height- unfortunately my uncle sawed through my one barrow! Good thing it is plastic and not metal ha!

Nice thing about the barrow is I can put the tools in it and they don’t roll away anywhere.
