And temps in the mid 50s, shockingly warm for a storm like this.

View attachment 36567732 days in a row of Lark and Indigo laying in the coop. Pippa is responsible for the larg egg (just shows how small the other 2 lay: good considering their dainty sizes).
Those are really nice eggs; I love the olive coloured one, very pretty.

That’s a threatening sky, when do you normally see snow?

So the chair these guys are on the back of has turned into a poop board of course. Must change the perch attachment so it can be a useable chair! Meanwhile here's a two-fer I got while sitting on it after carefully cleaning it....
Ida on left, Anna on the right. I keep calling Ida Diane, so that may be her name now, and use either one: "Ida Diane."

One of these would be a great submission for the Fluffy Butt Friday contest! Very cute bottoms :)

How is Ida doing? I'm assuming (?) Anna continues to improve - hoping Ida is stabilizing or getting better, not worse.

And...how is your hip doing after all that hard digging? (I think I remember correctly that you had it replaced a year ago ish.)
Oh gosh I forgot about your hip! Oh you’re a trooper to be doing that work, I am hurting just doing chores, you must be very sore hauling dirt 😳 be careful not to over strain that hip.

Tax
Two more of Petunia and Eli-too, not sure what they were discuss - likely my carpentry skills or lack there off 😁

Tippy is now 25 weeks and I see no eggs… either she is hiding them or not laying.

So was wondering about your wee lady 😊
Beatrice is 21 weeks and just laid her first egg today! A lovely dark brown and 50 grams which seems large for a first egg!

She was mating with Cesario over the long weekend, so I knew it was coming soon.

That’s wonderful, you will have to post a photo of it 💕 and maybe hatch some eggs next spring?? 😊

Butterscotch was squatting for me a couple weeks ago, but I don’t see her laying eggs yet and she is 22 weeks now.

Maybe they are laying somewhere I don’t see; but I would think they would be squawking and carrying on like the Azurs and Henny Penny (those are the ones laying regular now).

Did Beatrice carry on before and after she laid her egg? All the hens here carry on for hours before they go on to lay their egg, then when done they carry on even more!

I don't know if Beatrice made a lot of noise as I was at work, but she is generally a quiet pullet. The Partridge Rocks do a lot of honking, but haven't laid yet.

I would love to let one of my broodies hatch someday, but have to be careful of numbers with our harsh winters, so likely not possible next summer.

Beatrice's first egg!
