"decorative fluffy crested what-nots". We are talking about silkies right? If so, do it. I resisted silkies for a few years and was wrong to do so. Silkies are actually so much more then decorative chickens. The hens I have found when not broody are reliable egg layers or small eggs. That is ok. Those small eggs, fit perfectly on a piece of toast for a sandwich or great size for a younger child for a fried egg. When they are broody, and at some point your silkie will be broody. It is not a matter of if, but a matter of when, they are hard to beat as a mother. My Chiquita was right up there with Momma Hen as far as being a good mother hen. Chiquita even adopted chicks after setting on nothing for 5 weeks. She would not break so leghorns magically appeared for her out of thin air. The best thing about silkies that I have found, their snuggles and willingness to be loved on.
Ok that’s it, definitely a Dark Brahma next yearSherlock is making progress. Had a couple of moments where he's looked at the chickens and turned away (on leash). Have been able to walk past them (usually when his bladder is speaking louder than other instincts) with a glance and no other reactions. He's got a ways to go yet, but progress is coming.

Wow. Long time since I read that! Therefore no other care hath she,
The Lady of Shalott…….
@rural mouseI like 3 the best, but I would make one very small change. I would crop the sky a little bit, and add a little down to the bottom. In other words, move the image down a little.
The blurry line of grass at the bottom (the way you have it) is a bit distracting to me. My eye wants to see what it is.
Sorry, I QC'd photographs for about 20 years.
But I absolutely LOVE the mountains!! Very nice image!
Can you crop no.2. I think many of us thought no.3 is a crop of no.2It isn't cropped, so how could I move that down?
I can also sing songs that would make a sailor blushWow. Long time since I read that!
All I remember is
She left the web, she left the loom
She made three paces thro’ the room
You are very impressive at quoting poetry!
In other ways too of course!
