I do have scorpions, but I don't see them very much.... unless it's August of 2023 right after a tropical storm! They seem to come out after heavy rains! As for the spiders, they are not very large, but we have brown recluses and black widows. I have seen one of my chickens eat a black widow!

I am super sorry that I’ve not been on here in a few weeks. I’ve been super busy. My grades were better a day ago but I have a C in Georgia Studies. But I got a 100 on a quiz today so I’m eggspecting that to go up.
My math is a B, and I’m starting to enjoy math a little bit.
All of the chooks are fine. I have 3 pullets and one rooster from my babies.
Eli is still getting used to everyone, and with BBQ chasing her and they chicks it’s a bit chaotic.
BBQ’s feathers are finally growing back. She’s actually a really pretty hen. Splotch is starting to molt I think.
Pastel has no tail feathers left… I accidentally snapped his last one in half today when I tried to grab him. I missed and grabbed his tail feather.
Bolt isn’t laying any eggs, but I love her.
I think that the only two that are laying right now are BBQ and Splotch. I don’t think that Eli is laying anymore. She gave us a few eggs.
All of my guineas are doing fine. I keep on forgetting to bury Madame Pearl, so I still have a dead Guinea hen in my freezer. I feel so bad.
I had a horse show on Saturday. I was awake for a total of 22 hours on Saturday. It was interesting. More to come in that.
I have championship in two weeks, so I need to be very focused on horse back riding. I’m not too worried though. In December Lenny is going to be leaving… I’m not sure what I’ll do.
This is Lenny laying down at the horse show.

Below is my favorite chick. She looks a lot like Bolt. This is Crystal.

Great to hear from you. Good work on the grades.

I've always wondered: how do people who don't drink live? Do you receive fluids through a IV?
It was in reference to his Wine. I don't imbibe. I do, however, guzzle H2O.

But, yes, I have also had IVs on occasion - one most recent was with a 2 day hospital stay last week that still didn't seem to shed light on my reason for being there and then being admitted. :(

Tax: My dream chickens (not in any particular order):
Dark Brahma Chicks - Valley Hatchery

Heritage Barred Rock - Blue Feather Farms

Cornish Chickens | Oklahoma State University

Buff Brahma Bantam: Everything You Need To Know

Orpington Chickens: Breed in Focus

Ameraucana

Baby Chicks: Welsummer - My Pet Chicken

Heritage BRs, Dark and Buff Brahmas (I like the light, too, but they are much more easily seen when free ranging.) Buff Orpingtons (though I'm open to other colors, this is all I've had, and I love them), Americaunas/Easter Eggers - love their Muffs and variety of colors in my flock; Welsummer.

Sorry @RebeccaBoyd I like the Copper Marans and Cuckoo Marans, but the Welsummers are just so friendly and lay SPECKLED eggs. Astralorps are good too, but had to draw the line somewhere - or next I would be adding polish and silkies, too!

I hope you get better soon.

Those chickens wanted clarification that you drink water. They said it tastes best mixed with dirt.

Gaby the Welsummer is very friendly, but only if you can catch her and sit down with her on your lap. She actually snuggled up to me yesterday on my lap. She also believes I am a rooster, due to the amount of squatting she does in my presence. However, she does attack the Littles all the time. She has no issues beating them up. Other than that she is very chill.

I like your dream chicken list. Nothing wrong with Buff Orps. I too want brahma's eventually. It is ok about the Marans, they are not for everybody, that is why there are hundreds of chicken breeds instead of 2 or 3. I will say I cannot wait to see what silkie's you end up having. The color possibilities are endless with them, I think they come in just about every color.
