That is just a great mug. Reminds me of this lady.Mugs Monday: Becky!
Who is super chatty, and single-handedly keeps me in eggs. She’s second to last in the adult’s pecking order, and wishes ill upon the pullets. She charges them constantly, although luckily won’t pursue for further than 4-5 feet. She is also the first of the flock to go boneless in a beam of sunlightView attachment 3683031
Beards, you like beards you say.Is that buttercup? I loove her feathering! I’d like to get a chicken next spring that looks either just like her (not that I’m looking for flyers) or has Queen Aurora’s likeness (bearded).
Really, no she does not. Not even straw when she is digging in that.Magnificent!
Does she really never get stuff stuck to her beard when she forages in the leaves?
Blue photographs better with a white background.Yes blue is a terrible colour to photograph truly.
So one down and 5 to go (not including the Hoover chicks), I think Butterscotch will be next. And then Babe and Cash (two of the Hoovers) have been squatting so likely then in a couple weeks![]()
Meat, fish, egg are all good sources of extra protein to help her build new feathers.I can't give her oils right now because of the poops
She had a little cat food this morning and ate on her own. I made her eat layers mash and yogurt this afternoon and she snatched some turkey leg meat off me before bed.
It stopped raining for an hour so she spent time on the grass while I cleaned out wet cardboard and sand from the run.
Let's see how she is tomorrow
She's calming down a little but losing Tina and this persistent rain has really taken it toil on her. Sardines again tomorrowmeet, fish, egg are all good sources of extra protein to help her build new feathers.
Poor old girl, molting seems like such a difficult time for them.
I will clearly need to have a chat with Tassels about personal hygiene and beard maintenance. She is frequently covered in whatever she has been exploring (including mud).Really, no she does not. Not even straw when she is digging in that.
Lady Featherington is still laying. I get a handful a week. Last week'sI’m in the same situation as our beloved leader @BY Bob . Out of eggs and have to resort to purchasing store bought variety eggs. I’m so ashamed !
My church friend who buys my stuff sent me the eggshells from her store eggs. Same color as Coco’s but not nearly the same quality!
