Tedi says her single feather is beautiful and a fashion statement, thank you. She calls it a "rear fascinator".

Totally stunning. If she's laying pink, then her mama is one of your brown egg layers (probably one of the lighter brown). Shan is a Brahma x hamburg. She's got the white earlobes of the hamburg. Her mother (whichever one she is) lays lightish brown eggs. Hamburgs lay white. That combined to lighten up the light brown to pink.
She's really popping the earlobes in this pic.View attachment 3689240I'm still trying to figure out how Cheetah's transverse pencilling and the dark brahmas chevron pencilling makes her feathers. However it works, she's stunning to my eyes.
Oooo a polkie - maybeSomeone likes black chickens? I have two!

Princess has started chatting with both me and the cat. The cat looks like he is actually listening. I wonder if he actually understands chicken lingo
I am glad Liara and kiddo had a nice chat. I find my Princesses to be quite interesting conversationalists when they aren’t actually yelling at me.
ChickenI only call cranky old ladies “Ole Bat” but I only say it to myself.
