Hahaha I know I shouldn’t laugh but mine are also like that tonight also. There I am trying to get horses in and settled so I can check for chicks and those darn birds are now up and running around - so I said fine be like that.Pooh has started a boycott of bed time.
It is ten minutes to dark. The normal routine is I come in and give them a treat inside the Chicken Palace so I can count them all in and lock up.
Pooh has the zoomies and has now recruited Calypso and Piglet and they are flying around outside in the dusk and totally ignoring me.
I need them to come in. It is the hour of the fox, coyote, raccoon and skunk.
I am also freezing cold standing here waiting for them!
A bucket of chicken?Due to the circumstances, I must give them an ultimatum.
(You can either sit in here, or end up in here!) Now go start laying eggs!!!

Oh ya don’t go by that…. I waited for 5 weeks for butterscotch to lay her eggs after she started squatting for me.Well, well, well. It looks like i will have one of the new pullets lay this fall. Walked up behind one of the rocks to herd her into the coop for the night and she squatted for me.
Soon! Soon!
Hi LilionHappy Thanksgiving to all our US flockers. After dinner we finally put Eenie and Uno back in with the other 3. We lured them in with leftover turkey giblets and bits. Nothing like having your cousin for dinner.
Eenie looks better...or at least her neck does. It's one big scab of course. But, I doubt there's anything that will make the others pick at her. There was promptly a power struggle. First Sheba tried taking Eenie's turkey bite, they had a kerfuffle. Then Meanie stepped on to show she was still top dog/hen. When last I saw them, Eenie and Uno were up on top of the nest boxes, trying to stay away from the other two. All totally abandoning the delicious Thanksgiving meal in the run. Meanwhile Tres was out there tuck-tuck-tucking at the ladies, trying his best to call them out for food, only to be completely ignored, poor lad.
Eenie, between the injury and the molt, has shrunk! I swear I'd be surprised if she weighs 3 pounds. Uno looks rather spectacular. Tres is just getting huge! But I swear, he's like a big, dumb puppy. He and Uno are 19 weeks old today!
Sheba, my Rockstar, is the only one still laying.
I'll try to get some pics tomorrow!
