How many times a day does she get the pain meds? Can you do it at night when you're home (I thought your job is a local day job not a travel one?)

OK so you do have to travel? I wonder if the vet can come out while you're away, if that has to happen this week?

It is true that roosters choose you! They do what they want and their love is true too!

Out of all my birds 16 are roos. They talk smack to each other and they may try to show me they are tough, but only 1 has attacked me.
He has been jealous of me since day one. But he is obsessed with me too! He's near me, he dances for me, he shows me food. His girls have a bond with me because they were there first. If they get to focused on me and won't listen to him he takes it out on me. Then after I've chased him screaming and threatening him. We calm down and he's back at me cooing.
This roo did choose me and he chooses violence more often than not. He is like the sour patch candy. Sour and mean then sweet and happy

That’s what happened with Tuff, I was out west working and mum had to deal with her death. Ken came down and buried her.

I have decided to see how it goes, I am only a 2 hr drive away so if needs be I can pop home to deal with any issues. It’s just too much for me to have to deal with right now, I am not a person to jump at things, I need to analyze and think on things, if I need to do this myself then I want all the facts, I do not want her to be injured further by my incompetence.

I agree and understand your thinking on this. Take a deep breath....One thing that I think about and may comfort you is how sleep is a good self-medicating thing for pain in humans. Chickens sleep a lot when they aren't well, so maybe she also is self-managing the situation too.
