Fully agree. @notabitail the diagnostic process needs to start with a very thorough set of observations. Critical in diagnosing a chicken are (as Pony says):
- Crop empty/full in the morning and if full what it feels like
- Poop
- Egg laying
- Standing posture
- Breathing, sneezing, mucus from nose or eyes
Whether you or your sister do it doesn't matter but you need to look at all of that. And if she is not even drinking then you will need to figure how to get some fluids into her.

I promised to update on Kara. Good news, she doesn't have ascites !
I feel so relieved . But also so stupid I will probably keep my mouth shut for a while.

Anyway, my partner got there and Kara had x rays and echography and they don't see any mass or worrying thing. The vet think she has a nutritional deficiency, that she is not assimilating calcium properly. He asked that we put her back on layer feed only, and gave some supplements. I certainly hope he is right, and I think my partner will be upset for all the trouble we went through when I wrongly thought she has ascites !


Yesterday we watched this, "winged migration".

. It is very frustrating because you don't learn anything: it's just beautiful filming of migrating birds. But the images are incredible and so relaxing I fell asleep, which never happens to me when I watch a film.

No problem on posting to your caring friends if you're worried. I've sent out dozens of false alarms but it's fundamental that we find as many answers as we can.

I no longer can keep chickens but I still have my old princess grumpy to care for and I'm keeping her going as long as I can. It's sad she's only one but on decent days here she is still enjoying life

I have a non chicken question.
Has anyone heard of earning by watching videos?

I only have one name for this it's not my chosen one yet because I'm essentially about animals rescues!... my main enjoyment because sometimes i learn from these clips.
I'm interested in crime investigations cooking and real life stories, too name just a few.

One place mentioned is "Swagbucks," but as already said it's the rescuers that's my main interest.

What would you guys think?
