I wondered about that.
I think it is tethered so you can haul it in to shore.

My poor porcupine, I mean Dakota. Shivering in the cold. I brought her inside, but doing so, I touched her and she gave out a blood curdling scream .
I’m feeding her steak and Greek yogurt.

I see how those little water cups would work well to not dip wattles in while drinking. That would be great in cold weather. Do they work in freezing temperatures?

They can freeze very easily in freezing temps, because they are not heated and they hold a small amount of water. The chooks have to press their beak on the nipple for water to come out. These are better for warmer climates.
