Bald eagle! Wow that's something. Did Cardhu understand?

She gave me a VERY dirty look. Kept trying to go the OTHER way before giving up and heading in. I'm just thankful they were all inside before the bird swept through. Cardhu, while not blood related to Twirp, has very much followed in Twirp's independent footsteps.....and is going to be as much trouble as Twirp is. I'm hoping she joins in next year on educating the hormonal idiots as effectively.

Went out to close the coop. Cardhu was still out. Herded her in. Gathered eggs. Have a brand new layer. Enigma had been in the nest box, while Havoc was trying to climb in too. a bald eagle. I'm glad I got Cardhu in when I did. She's small enough to be dinner for one of those. We don’t usually see them here: not enough water.

Wow, Bald Eagle! Never seen one. I just have hawks.

What hawks did to my flock: Killed my RIR Red, a bunch of my light sussex, and all of my ducks I used to have.

A sucker made of Tootsie roll. Gotcha

No, it's worse than that. It's a weird combination of fruity lollypop hard candy enclosing a Tootsie roll center. Not very good imo, a cheap imitation of how fine chocolate and candied or dried fruit can go nicely together.

Last night's roosting. I moved the coop camera, much better. Hazel and Popcorn in the adults area

This morning. Netting holding up, but the goldenrod grown through it with snow in the middle of the picture is now bending and leaning on the fence. Will clear that.

Maybe you can do something about all the rest of that white stuff too?

I know - right?! Those frogs look amazing!

They are poison dart frogs, they come in such vibrant colors and are so very tiny. I had a co-worker who kept them and even bred them. They are on my maybe someday list.
