How are you feeling?

Oh no 😩 I hope it’s a fast and easy bout
Thanks. It eased up a lot when I got on an antiviral Saturday afternoon. The current common variant isn't very lung-oriented, that's good. My face was just exploding however, and the antiviral has really helped that. My only regret was not going to get a PCR test right away, because that was a rough few days before I tested positive on the home test. DH would have had to drive me by the second day and I didn't push it, and I wasn't thinking straight.

I feel about the same day-to-day now. I don't see a lot of improvement since. However that's fine, I'm pretty tired and kind of whacked-out but I don't feel horrible, and nights are much better. Trying to stay hydrated enough, legs cramping in the early morning may mean I'm not doing enough, or it's how this thing goes.

So far my partner/DH hasn't caught it, good, hoping that doesn't change. I've been isolating up on the second floor and masking when I have to come downstairs.

It's kind of lonely though! DH and I aren't doing our daily things together like we usually do. So I'm here a lot. I only have a few hours of some mental & physical energy each day. I gathered our box of various Covid home tests, went online and and labeled them with the latest extended expiration dates. I've caught up on other paperwork. I work on a bit of music, my hands were hurting before but that's better now. I'm still very slowly taking ChickAtraz apart  , it's embarrassing but it's still up more or less. I'm washing everything as it comes out.

The chickens are nice company when I go out there, and the kitty has decided to take a lot of his activities up here so that's been really great. I've noted him napping, washing, napping, getting scritches from me, looking out the window, napping, drinking from his little water bowl here, napping, washing again, getting more scritches, & more napping. Who could ask for more?

She got up on the hay bale beside me. The older birds (Black Australorps 4yo next March) haven't done that. Of the three, she is the friendliest.

Snowbird, who stood next to the hay bale for a few minutes too. If I reach to pet him, he will move away. He watched, but didn't seem to mind, when I petted Sunny as she sat on my lap. I've explained to him that all the girls belong to us both, and it's ok if I pet them. He understands that I'm not trying to steal them.

I'm trying too find a completely wet proof extension lead. I know I said no more chickens  but but but
Well let's put it this way, I'm really having great contact with this this rescue.

They've found me a vet that treats chickens and have great reviews on all the animals they care for. Plus they do something called a payment plan.
There are lots of ‘wet’ condition extension power cables out there.

The question is: do you have an outlet on the outside of your dwelling. If not then you may have to pass it through a window, and use a towel on the gap created by the power cord.

If you do have an outlet on the outside of your place, then how far is the outlet to your Hen House 😊 I have run 100’ of extension cord, and those can be easily bought, and you can get them with a GFI - ground fault interrupt - which will cut the power to the extension cord if it gets a short.

So:
1) do you have an outlet
2) if so how far from it to the coop.

He sure is a beauty 😊💕

Mr P knows I am not a threat to his girls. Now Marty on the other hand, she is a terror! I went to pick up a chick on Saturday and the chick was squawking up a storm well Marty came out a beat the crap out of me! And that’s not even her baby! Can you imagine if she had chicks?! 😳

Wish I could sleep like a cat!

So glad you seem to be on the mend, and glad you’re able to get out with your chook-chooks 💕
