Seems like normal behavior. Maybe another week side by side like that, then provide plenty of escape avenues and visual blocks. But how gorgeous - I thought she seemed to have grey-green legs! They do look pretty green in this picture!
More likely they were showing her where she stood in the pecking order! I bet it won't take long for her to integrate. A few more days/1 week of side-by-side with a fence between them foraging - and then put in some obstacles and some perches for escaping and let them 'mingle' for a few supervised hours for a couple of days in the same run (neutral space like the garden! or free range) And before you know it, they will be a family - squabbles and friendly preening and sibling rivalry and all!

I had intended to have a long drawn-out side-by-side integration. But I had also assumed there would be more fence squabbling? The unexpected friendly behavior threw me off 😅 Of course they ended up behaving exactly as expected after all, phew!

Today I stated erecting an inside enclosure so that she could both be closer to the flock, and spend her nights inside the Fort-Knox run. Then I can finally rest easy that some raccoon won’t pick her off.

My horse Lenny is leaving on Friday. My mom wasn’t going to tell me for who knows how long. I’m on the way to the barn and I’m going again tomorrow. I’ve been crying for the past few weeks, so I have very few tears to spare right now. I just shed a few. I’m gonna miss Lenny. He’s been a good boy.

I’ve ridden the new horse two times. He is a Mustang named Prince. One year ago you couldn’t get within 20 feet of him without him spooking. Now he’s a pretty nice boy.
Awww I know you will miss Lenny but you will soon grow attached to Prince, I seem to remember you missing the pony when you first started riding Lenny 😊

Ok so pony tax

A two for Tuesday BFTP
Must be Rico and Tippy as chicklets when I put that screen up in the feedroom doorway 😊

I have little Dakota inside , and I believe that possibly, I can bargain with her to break up the union stalemate. Xzit is not around to influence her decisions and I think that she didn’t vote for the strike in the first place. Furthermore, I don’t think Dakota wants to be in any union at all. She’d rather scab for an ear of corn 🌽 than picket at a union strike!

Would have been 16 but mum put one in her pocket 😆

I am assuming all my pullets are now laying, hope to figure out who is laying this coming long 4 day weekend.

Sorry, no pictures, but I have to share because I am laughing so hard.
I was cooking today and had a lot of kitchen scraps for the Princesses.
I took two containers out during the afternoon while they were out foraging and they came rushing in and really enjoyed it.
So this evening, as it was getting towards dusk, I went out with a third container to lock up the coop for the night.
Everyone mobbed the container and it was mayhem.
Babs and Bernie marched into the coop and up onto their roost. The Pentagonists saw that and followed.
As soon as the Pentagonists were distracted by their nighttime squabbles, Babs and Bernie got down off their roost and RAN to the container and ate up all the kitchen scraps.

Maybe it was just random, but it sure looked like the Odd Couple conspired to trick the Pentagonists out of their treats!
