Wings can ice up with those temperatures. Equipment failures are not uncommon
In the summer Alex, summer! Not this time of year 😳

You need to wait until the broody hen gets broody in the the early summer 😁 then stuff a dozen eggs under her and let the hatching commence 💕

Let the enabling begin!

They don’t bother with me anymore, I finally learnt to just knuckle under 😆

Which is how chicken math happened at my place - I went from writing ‘I have 13 chickens’ to writing ‘I have 32 chickens’!
Keep laughing RC - resistance is futile, you will knuckle under, you will get a shiny black rooster with lovely wattles and comb 😊

Is that how you do it? New chicks in March and April every year?
Ah! Yes Confederation of Canada - July 1, 1867 🥰 - so this was before hand.

We were still a part of the British till then, surprisingly the creation of Canada was borne out of fears of American annexation!

And let’s not start on Newfoundland, same deal, a lot of shady deals to ensure that Newfoundland joined Canada and not the US, as the people of Newfoundland had a vote in this. A lot a bad feelings were had over this at the time. It was said that the British wanted to divest themselves of Newfoundland but they didn’t want to give her up completely - all those rich fish stocks (which are no more due to over fishing), if Newfoundland joined Canada the British would still have some say on things.

Political fancy footwork tax
Awww look at all the chickies 💕

I thought that after all the USA did for England during ww2, they would have given us Canada as a consolation prize 🏆!
