I took Sir Jaffar back outside to let the girls out, but with the ground muddy and cold, he would have none of that. He looked at me as if to say “Hooman are you nutz? I’m not staying out here, until it’s warmer! Take me back inside squire before I behead you!”
What’s the temps there Alex? It’s a balmy -2C (28F), which is rather mild for here in January.

The chooks are ok inside the barn, though I see Marty is in the Hen House up on the ledge. I bet she is still chilly as her feathers are not fully grown in. Red also feels the cold so the two of them spend over night in the feedroom. I have the temp in there set at 5C. Enough to keep things from freezing up.

Yum. I never made noodles myself before. Maybe I should try!
Roughly a cup of flour to a large beaten egg: mix to stick together, roll on floured surface, cut into strips (pizza wheel works well), toss in rest of flour, let rest/dry a bit, then dump into bubbling soup stock with the flour (thickens to gravy)

I KNOW you have eggs....

BTW, was making these when oldest came home from school. I looked at the pile of noodles, decided needed more, cracked more eggs into the bowl, dumped in flour and mixed with my flour covered fingers. He looked at it and said, "that's disgusting. If that's for dinner, I'm not eating." (I got the recipe from my MIL and he loves it)

Mornin.
Gramma offered to take kiddo for a few hours so I can spot clean the coop and throw more bedding down. Kiddo isn't feeling too hot today, but she slept through the night finally.
Just started a loaf of bread, I love my bread machine. I don't fill it in the "proper" order though because I like to pre bloom my yeast for maximum bread fluffiness.

Hubby gets tomorrow off, his shop said with the storm they don't want people potentially getting hurt for overtime. This is only the second time they've closed due to weather since he's started there 12 years ago.
I'm happy though, more hubby time is always good. ❤️
Ah, another bread maker user.

Just tidbit the noodles to him. He'll eat them.

For sure! My dad would occasionally make bread growing up, and I used the family bread maker until it died. Hubby immediately bought me a really nice one that I'm making sure to maintain! f198c9af-0172-4897-b576-11c717809591photo.jpeg

Made it again a week later when my dad visited. He ate. As long as he didn't see the mixing, he was OK. Now I'm working on a family recipe book for him.....guess what's in it.....with comments about eggs still warm from the chickens.....
