Yesterday, on the way to work, saw a great grey owl in the middle of the snowy road. It moved to the side before I reached it, then went back after I passed it. What it was interested in: white fur, so rabbit or ermine sort of thing. Beautiful birds.

Brrrr. I went out to turn off the fence energizer so it doesn't run the battery down. I took the fence down so Calypso could come back easily after the hawk attack - but now it is buried under snow and the ground is frozen - so I will have to wait for some melting before I put it up again.
It was interesting to see how (almost) all the animal prints go around the outside of the fence even though it isn't actually there. They really do learn to avoid it.
However, someone came inside the chicken yard and left these prints right by the door. WDYT? Fox? Coyote? Neighbor's dog?

Also cute, though not quite as artsy as @Ponypoor's chicken feet in snow I saw these inside the covered chicken run where a dusting of snow had blown in.

I love those chickie prints, I always feel badly for their poor feet though!

As for those canine prints, I would say fox, unless you have a neighbours small dog. If you track the prints do they go in a straight line to the bush? I find dogs prints are generally all over the place, but a game track is generally straight to a destination - I have a fox that literally cuts straight across the yard at the barn and straight in the front paddock entrance where the run’s western fence is, and goes along the fence to the bush.

Random pics for any tax owed

Bert - I tried to get his butterscotch coloured spots, he sure is a cutie, he sure does remind me of Henny Penny even though she isn’t his egg mama

Oh and someone was crowing this morning- any guesses as to whom! I am sure it’s Bert but with Sophia and Penelope also crowing at times who can be sure, but it sounded like a young roosterlette starting to crow so likely Bert.

Betty, is certainly a frizzle like her mama

Blanche got a ride in the wheelbarrow- not sure why she likes it but she will hop up there when I am wheeling it.

And Muffy looking for a place to lay an egg and some straw to tear apart.

They appear too small for coyote. Neighbor's dog: depends upon the size. Fox: likely. Other critters: maybe.

I think fox. The neighbor has huge dogs and they are always together.

Those prints look like my pomeranians, so my vote is also for fox.

Saw my new dr. today and she ordered a "holter" monitor test for me. I did one years ago but it didn't catch my heart thing. She says my description sounds like there's something going on though.

Gosh it’s beautiful outside. Feels like -5F though so I am limiting my trips outside.

The girls came out to check on me checking on them, but I told them go back inside! So cold

Glad you are getting that checked out. I am with you - I think fox. When I get the fence back up I will need to train the foxes all over again.
