They have beaks. You should be scared of them.

(Proceeds to hug chicken with beak and head right by my face with zero fear at all).
I love 💋ing these wattles

Delicious dinner. Thank you Samara, they are delicious. Hubby is seriously impressed with how buttery they cook up.

Goodnight ladies, sleep well and tomorrow I will spot clean that coop. 🥰

Locked In
The girls are going to stay locked in even if the snow melts. This is a terrible photo but as I was driving home yesterday there was a juvenile Coopers Hawk on my neighbors fence. I tried to take the photo from the car so it's blurry.

That fence is very close to their coop. While I was trying to take the photo the hawk attacked something in his back yard.

I'm going to add more netting over a larger portion of the yard trying to cover the area around the apple trees. This will discourage the hawks but I can't dome the yard. It won't stop them.

So for a few weeks anyway, the tribe is going to live in the complex. It's for their own good. I need to come up with more entertainment for them.

On Sunday, I dumped a half bag of straw in the coop for them. That has been very entertaining and provides deep warm in the coop nesting for them. Wind chill was -1°F last night. Deep straw to stay warm if they want. Heaters are on.

My crew really like flock blocks. I know it’s nothing fancy but it lasts for quite sometime.

I do not have any baby Tylenol. Honestly I think all Bubba wants is to be left alone. He did not seem too painful when I was examining it, although I was being gentle. I set him down and he drank and ate quite a bit of food and then back up on the roost he went. He is actively avoiding the comb picking girls. He is not even sleeping next to them at night right now. Bubba always took the top roost in between Blueberry and Bunny. Last 2 nights, he is on the bottom roost beside Branch and Spooky.
Aww poor wee lad, well hopefully it gets really nice and warm soon very soon.

He is a smart boy to avoid them 💕

Glad he had a good drink and a snack to eat, I need to give Mr P a goimg over tomorrow and trim his hair.
