And that's when I pull the plug.

Everything is okay with Mozzarella's eye. I just thought that maybe the bright sky was bothering her eyes,
No, you don't annoy me. No one here annoys me. You're all special in your own way as said in my signature.
I can agree with the boring and strange part. Old Man is well over his 50s and I consider him boring and strange.
Grandma's turning 8 and I don't consider her boring and strange, regardless if 8 years of a chicken's life is 80 in human years... and that is quite old.

Grades are fine and I always have time for everything. I understand you folks are much older than me and have a lot to talk about. The thing is, I don't really like sharing about my personal life and I guess this is why I mostly post about chickens. I'll try to be on here more often, even if that is featherhead throwing a few corny jokes here and there.
I didn't know you were somewhat partial to BRs.
I don't find anyone here boring. As said in my signature, you are special in your own way. Therefore, you aren't boring. Like I said, I'll try to be on here more often. In fact, I'm close to 1,000 posts so time to rant about chickens.
Grandma looks wonderful for 8! You are doing a great job 💕

I am partial to BR also, and wattles 😊

It makes me sad to see Piglet on her own.
But I love that Babs and Bernie have welcomed the others. This is what I imagined roosting would look like when I dragged that huge branch out of the woods.
Sylvie is hiding in her nest box. I wish she would join the big group.

Really - he doesn't rake out the poo once a year or so? I know it is mostly for dust bathing - but surely it must get some poo in there? There is always some poo in my chickens' dust bath areas - I use a cat litter scoop weekly on it -then top it up. Not a huge area like @BY Bob 's, and I have more chickens, but it is elevated and sometimes they roost on the edges ...which means poo goes right on in!🙄
I do the same thing - I got that idea from you!

Hmmmm well says they are open online, if I get a chance I will give them a ring.
Its a US Federal holiday so no mail or most schools for instance. But lots of stores are open, some observe it and give everyone a three-day weekend, others don't. As @notabitail said, delivery companies (private) may be working, just not the US Postal Service.
Numerous others have said this other ways tax plus Mugs Monday:
Just about time to get to the roost! (About 5:30pm)

Anna, she's got an interesting curve in her comb. Sweet as ever, lays tiny eggs right now.

Tedi, biggest of the Spuds, and I think laying the biggest eggs

Tedi's back as she's inspecting my boots and Diane Ida-Biter behind her, and I think Hazel in back

Hazel by herself, her eye is often slightly bubbly. She readily took calcium pills coated in walnut-yogurt paste today. She knows now the high perch I put her on is for that. (It's also great for keeping everyone else away while she gets her treats.) She wasn't afraid I was going to dose her with medicine, for instance, as she was the first day - standing stock still, waiting for the coming doom!

Diane Ida-Biter. Looking a little rumpled as she got several beat-downs from me for biting my hands today, and Popcorn piled on with a chase afterward a few times too. Popcorn seemed to be standing on her or dominating her at one point by the water bowl today, I have no idea why, I heard a warbling complaint and looked up to see Popcorn releasing her. Diane's got a crazy look in her eyes at times. I will get a picture again, her pupils are not round.

She hasn't attacked me in any other way except for a couple of half-hearted charges behind me at my boots. Interesting, she will let me pick her up and hold her on my knee, she might peck my hand once or twice but doesn't flap or fight me to get away. I want to be able to handle her as that could be necessary in the future so I make a point of picking her up as I do everyone, though the Spuds get more "picking up attention" as they're in training. She doesn't avoid me after all this, she hangs with me. She mostly lets me massage her crop when I'm holding her, etc. I can feed her by hand no problem. But present a hand, back or front, directly in front of her and she will make a wailing sound and then peck at it and try to grab skin. She has a thing for hands it seems.
