Cluckie seems okay right now, even though she is on the roost, away from the others outside. I hold a London Rocket in front of her to see if she would eat, but she didn't peck at it or anything.

Oooo dark Brahmas 💕
Oh yes silkies are adorable! But they are tiny so you will need to keep them from your Roos - even Mr P is a bit big for my ladies, I keep a close eye on them to make sure they are ok.
Yeah, I will likely cave next year on the Dark Brahmas.

As to the silkies, yes the accommodations is exactly what stops me from getting them any time soon. I would definitely need a whole other coop and run for them.

I am trying hard to hold up to temptation this year on new chickens and if any of the girls go broody then I can set some of the jubilees eggs, get my chick fix, and sell them.

Injuries happen, take a deep breath first. Okay now, clean it up and disinfect. If it doesn’t start to bleed or ooze during this process then thats all you need to do, other then keep a close eye to ensure it continues to heal properly.

However, If it does either of those (bleed or ooze), I would consider isolating to keep an eye out for infection and to be able to keep it clean. If you can’t isolate then you will want to clean it regularly until it’s closed up.

This would be my plan of action, someone with more experience and knowledge will hopefully chime in.
