Shep was the only properly labeled girl at the feed store...although her tag was labeled "majestic mystic marans" instead of midnight majesty or mystic onyx, she's definitely a midnight majesty marans though.
How wonderful! First eggs rule!
And blue no less!

Thirsty Thursday
Yesterday was a fun day out. The snow has melted enough that you can eat it without standing in it (a very popular situation). And the melt off the roof of the Chicken Palace is running out of the gutters and creating huge pools of chilled wild water. Also very popular!

A Microsoft car would also need a product key that needs activation all the time, along with the need for a Microsoft account to open the navigation app.

The Apple car would stop working if you put a third party accessory or part on it citing "saftey" all the time.
The apple car would also be powered by steam but they would charge like they had a gasoline engine.

I really try not to watch roosting time but I saw some of it this evening and seriously I can't watch again!

Piglet went off to her solo roost.
Sylvie took the far end of the big roost as far away from anyone as it is possible to get (which is quite far!).

Everyone else piled on together on the big roost. BUT it was not all happiness.

Bernie and Babs were at the two ends with 3 big fluffy Princesses between them. Babs was not happy with this arrangement and walked along the edge of the wall-mounted flat panel heater (I have no idea how she is able to do that) to get closer to Bernie. Meanwhile Tassels, who is next to Bernie, won't make room for Babs and even tries to burrow under Bernie to displace her.
Bernie was having none of that and threw Tassels, Pooh and Calypso off the big roost. She let Sylvie stay at the far end.

So, the odd couple are back roosting next to each other. Sylvie is all on her own at the far end of the big roost (at least she is not in a nest box) and everyone else is back together being pecked by Piglet.

I guess at the end of the day, being pecked by Bernie is a lot more troublesome than being pecked by little Piglet!
It's always such a fuss at roosting time. :hugs :hugs

Thanks!

Lazy and sleepy chickens today.
Losing a friend will have an effect on the entire group. You should expect them to be out of sorts for a few days.

Control alt delete is used either to get the computer to reboot (mostly old operating systems) or pulls up a menu of some kind (in Windows, a menu that can open task manager, turn off the pc, stuff like that.
Tech tax is now required.

So Bernie and Slyvie were on the big roost, and everyone went over to Piglet's roost?

Unless they are really getting put upon I find it more fascinating than upsetting to watch. The platform-style roost here makes it possible to run behind someone, and thus out of harm’s way, even if still near them. So the shenanigans here look more like motions of the Sargasso Sea.
