Gah! Oh no! How dreadful, I hope it heals up quickly.
Many of us have slipped in turds… but there has to be some sort of an elite crew of folks who can claim they’ve slipped on a whole mountain of poop.
Oh that poop is very slippery! I hate when I slide down the ramp going out of the barn - brick pavers and squishy poop are very slippery! 😆

Two looking for treats

And two hairy legs

So my Orps are laying normal sized eggs now and the shells are hard, I am gonna run a test hatch of 6- 12 eggs and see what the fertilization rate looks like.

I have a 22 egg incubator though sooooo what, if any crosses would you do?

FBCM - Brownie - drk brown eggs
EE Cinnamon - med green eggs
Welsummer Ginger - reddish tan with speckles eggs
Amerucana peanut - Blue eggs
EE flour and sugar - dark mossy green with speckle eggs
Silverrudds Blue Biscotti- light green eggs
2 Azure eggers (roadrunner look) - teal blue and med green eggs

Can cross with the 2 jubilee orps roosters for an interesting feather pattern or for egg color.

The jubilee pattern is so complicated I can’t wrap my head around the possible outcomes lol so I would love to hear your opinions on which eggs you would set, if any.

I haven't looked at Jubilee orpingtons genetically, but if it runs like the sussex and mottling (Thing), the crosses will be split to speckled, meaning the mottling will be hidden under their base color. Your splash marked birds (biscotti, sugar and flour, I think) will likely throw blue babies: 1 copy of the diluted black gene. That could be an interesting look with the jubilee: red/gold leakage, possible blue instead of black mottled.

Egg color: orps are brown egg layers, so ALL your blue egg babies will lay green eggs

I would love to see a Brownie or two (just 'cause I love her and would like to see the personality of her cross Jubilee Orpington.)

I also Vote for a couple of the Azure eggers and at least one EE/Americauna (think: Jubilee with muffs and beards on top of all that fluff!!!!)

Just when I thought I was beginning to understand!
