What symptoms does she have? Straining?

No straining, just hunched up, tail drooping, I can feel what I think is an egg, I have very gently massaged it to try am move it along, but she really need to push it out, I am thinking some oxytocin might be needed to give better contractions.

I have given her a warm bath, and wrapped her up in a towel for a bit, she became restless so I let her down - she scarfed back a bunch of meal worms and is now eating some of the textured layer they all like.

That is an improvement as earlier she wouldn’t eat anything other than the egg I gave her and Red and some meal worms. She is perkier, but you know chickens that could be just their hiding illnesses

Oh and she just pooped a liquid-y poop, maybe she isn’t egg bound, maybe it’s something else,

I didn’t think they could poop if egg bound..?

Anyways I dried her off with the blow drier (she is not a fan of), and popped a wee bit of mineral oil in her cloacae in case she needs some lubricant.

I popped her back in the Hen House up on the ledge where she was earlier. Now I will give the horses some hay - they are awake now that I am out here. It’s something different and they don’t like that.

I love the Chicken chick blog for well researched information. She says eggbound hens can have watery poos as well as no poos. Which makes sense; it’s the bits that are able to squeeze past.

I was also interested to read her “last ditch effort” option. I hope it doesn’t get to that point for you though.

Not trying to be insensitive by suggesting this as I know it might be painful to have someone in her place, (Having just barely saved my boy's life not long ago), but what about possibly adopting an older rescue to just give a good home and life, as well as companionship for both parties? She was beautiful by the way!

I used a little olive oil inserted with my little finger and frozen coconut oil for them to eat by hand then add olive oil to their damp crumble.
Plus that Epsom warm water bath, that you have added in here already. That was my first action before the oils.

She was a fabulous lady.

I hope Alex will consider your suggestion, I think saving the life of another horse would be wonderful way of healing for our sweet friend, so many horses die just because they don't have a safe place to be

I have decided to try a warm bath for Petunia, so I am heading back out to the barn. I don’t like bothering them at night but I just feel this can’t wait.
