I was very cruel tonight. :( I had my friend on the phone laughing so hard, it triggered an asthma attack. 🤦‍♂️ I’m so sorry
We made amends this morning. She told me, “thank you for making me laugh so hard, I needed it, especially because I was really feeling down” she’s a great friend from my church.

Not trying to be insensitive by suggesting this as I know it might be painful to have someone in her place, (Having just barely saved my boy's life not long ago), but what about possibly adopting an older rescue to just give a good home and life, as well as companionship for both parties? She was beautiful by the way!🥰
Actually it is quite painful. I won’t be replacing Chaco for another horse. It’s just too much trouble and I don’t need anything more than I can handle at this time.

Coco.. “ hi daddy, I’m just here laying an egg. How’s things with you today?”
Xzit.. “Im here in this laying box spitting out an egg, don’t pet me, don’t touch me, or I’ll do this!!” She bit me hard and held on, to get her point across I guess.
Hen-Rietta gave me a Leghorn egg today too. Still warm when I collected it.

Now I am on a raging streak to eliminate the gophers in my yard. I have a huge yard. And I don’t have any empathy for the animals that destroy my lawn. Flash found a gopher and almost got bitten by it.
Those gophers are mean little creatures that do a lot of damage to my yard and garden.
This situation might require the use of The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! :old
Rest in pieces you furry little pest!

Petunia

Well she is one expensive chook. But I am glad to did take her in, the Vet felt that she didn’t have an egg in there, she did an X-ray and she didn’t see anything, she thinks what we feel in her abdomen is her gizzard enlarged, she also ran a fecal as Petunia was so nice to give her a juicy sample.

She had Round Worms and Cecal Worms.

The Vet also discussed nutrition with me as she noted several of my hens lay soft or brittle eggs. She told me stop the table scraps, stop the Starter ration, separate the chicks from the Bigs (that likely won’t happen), and look into a different feed, also to put my calcium/oyster shells into a container for them to access rather then feeding it off the floor.

So I was sent home with Panocur wormer for the herd to treat worms; and some Sulpha antibiotics for Petunia. So we shall see what happens.

If you figure out how to do that please share the secret. I am overrun with them too.
