I wouldn't use hay. I've heard it gets mold spores very quickly. Do you have pine trees? The pine needles make a great play surface.I have a lot of alfalfa pellets and hay, I've seen they are good for the birds. Hay is not an alternative to straw right? I need to leave it in the run instead of using it inside the coop?
