I can only dream of mosquitoes.Ugh. I hate mosquitoes. They have been out for a few days. I think my blood has a good taste because I’ve already been bitten about 15 times. Last summer we got very high temps. I live on a swamp, so the bugs and humidity is insane. This is right outside my 60 acres. I was right near the property line fence. View attachment 3790865

Haha and thank you, Marie!
Yes, from an upstairs window and from our kitchen and living room windows. The closest part is only 30 feet away. On purpose, for watching out for predators, and for clearing a way there in Winter, but I love having an awareness of what they’re doing during the day, especially getting serenaded with the escort calls while in the kitchen or living room.Cool view though! You can see the run from a window? I’ll bet it’s awesome to see the gals when the winter plastic wrap is down for the season.
Hahaha and so it starts glad I am not the only oneThe drama continues
I went out this morning (still pouring rain) to get Tassels off the nest. I took the opportunity to weigh her. She settled in to try and hatch some baby kitchen scales.
She weighs 5lb and just shy of 2oz. I will keep an eye on her weight in case she isn’t eating.

I took her out to the run and she definitely ate. Not sure she drank anything, but what she ate was wet mash so I am not too worried about that.
Her sister Calypso is running around making broody noises - so I may have another one on the way!
I took the opportunity of Tassels being off the nest eating to empty it out and put in new shavings.
This was her reaction when she came back and saw what I had done to her nest!
Congratulations on your new badgeThank you!
Thanks!

You can see them moving as shadows through the plastic mostly, but they also perch on a chair and walk along up on a log, a couple of places that are very near the side and easy to see. They watch us while we watch them too![]()
