Not such a great picture but princess has enjoyed a little time out

Oh I doubt hubby will let me, he told me no about a free! Blue laced wyandotte rooster.
I have neighbors and family with roosters so if I asked I could get some barnyard mixes to put under her.
Hahaha

Just go get it! That’s what I do, can’t say much once it’s there 😊♥️

I bought my first horse when I was 17, and my dad was furious, of course he was the first person out to see her next morning 😆

After that over the years it was always ‘NOT ANOTHER G-DARN HORSE, WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT MO MORE HORSES’

But he was always the first out there to see it 😊♥️

To this day my mum takes over the task of screaming at me ‘no more chickens’.

I generally just ignore her now. I figure I am almost 60 and if I want 99 chickens I will darn well have 99 chickens!!!

Ok so no I don’t want 99 chickens - I am up to something like 40 now, and plan on selling the bulk of the pullets I am raising up.

Good afternoon everyone.

My room feels so empty. My room is the last with carpet still and it is where Gracie spent most of her time the last few years. She had arthritis and she did not feel comfortable walking on the slick floors. She should be in her spot between my bedside and my computer chair refusing to move and making me walk overtop of her if I needed to walk around it for something. I'm still in disbelief that she is gone. Mom took the dogs on a walk down to the horse ring yesterday morning. It had rained all day and throughout the night so the creek was up. She sat on the bleachers for a hour and let them play in the creek since we were going to give them a bath yesterday. Gracie swam to her hearts content and got filthy without being scolded for it. On their way back home in front of my next door neighbors another neighbor was leaving. Mom said he was crawling and she had the dogs in my neighbors yard behind her. Gracie did something she had not done since she was a pup, came out of a sit and bolted in front of my neighbor's car. Mom could not stop her and my neighbor could not stop in time and he hit her. Mom is a wreck, my neighbor is a wreck and really, the rest of us are in the same shape. CeeCee is lost without Gracie. She is just laying in the living room, awake but whining. She refused to eat yesterday and her food bowl is still untouched. 22 years, for over 22 years I have had at least one Golden Retriever in my life and it feels so wrong now that I do not have one.
I am so sorry Rebecca. It is never easy to lose any animal, but (at least for me) losing a dog hits the hardest. Dogs understand people and comfort them, and while other animals do that, in my opinion, dogs are one of the best therapy animals. Of course, Sir Jaffar was always there for Alex, and I know that there are other people who had different animals that helped them. My current dog, Diana, helps me whenever I feel down. But you always having a golden and now not having one is terrible. I am so sorry. I’m sending hugs and I’m not sure if what I wrote will help, but I hope it does. I’m not the best at comforting people, but I always try. :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

"progress" . They want to destroy a park that, as far as I know, migrating birds use just to put a stupid freeway we don't need there.
Yep sad but true fact, they build roadways as a way of future planning for growth. Easier to build the road and underground infrastructure before putting in housing and industry.

Sad

Happy tax

And look at the size difference between those bantam chicks and the older ones 😊

Thankfully there are people against putting in these roads, so I hope they don't add them. The roads we have down there are good enough, I think.

Words can't express how hard it is to lose a dog, especially when it can't be blamed on a particular sickness or failing. She had a wonderful last day, and was happy when she left. I know she left a hole for you and your family, and that can't be filled, but remember that you have CeeCee and she needs you. Put all the love you don't know what to do with into her. Just know, that Gracie is up with Grandma, keeping her company. :hugs View attachment 3846314
It’s bad enough that I started crying when I saw that Gracie died, but this made me bawl my eyes out.
Losing my first dog last year, and my second dog three years ago is all too soon. Coach was only a few months older than me. I literally knew him from the day I was born.
I got Dina when I was a few years old. Amazing, sweet black lab. She got cushings disease (I think that’s how it’s spelled) and died at eight. She was a few years younger than me.
Losing Coach just last year still breaks my heart. I miss him and Dina like crazy.
Having other dogs helps though. Two weeks after Dina died, my parents bought two puppies. (Crazy, I know.) they are three and a half years old now, and I can’t imagine life without them.
They helped me get through Dina’s death, and my pup and I helped each other through Coach’s. She needed me when he passed, and I needed her. Having another dog always helps.
Just as Daffy said, Rebecca, CeeCee needs you and you need her :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

I am truly in awe of your ability.
I am a pretty good cake maker - I make different kind of cakes from the ones you make - i substitute a lot of the flour with ground nuts which makes them moister and more dense than many traditional cakes. I like to make up new flavor combos - my personal favorite is hazelnut, sour cherry, and chocolate.
But, I cannot decorate to save my life. Best I can do is slap on some buttercream or make some lemon drizzle.
I have a piping kit but somehow most of it comes out the wrong end and covers my fingers!
Maybe I should take a class.

Cake tax: defiant and broody Tassels on day 21.

If it covers your fingers, that means you just get to lick it off! I wish I could bake more often, but I am too busy. Maybe a little bit this summer. I wanna see if I’m good at it.
