Have you tried musical videos? You know songs like ‘I feel pretty’ or others like that? Happy jaunty tunes?Continuing with the music thing. When it comes to music videos, we don't really care about showing it to our chickens. However, when Grandma decided to come in the house and enjoy some AC, I let her watch the music video of "I Like to Move It, Move It". While some scenes showed women dancing in a suggestive and scandalous way, of course Grandma wouldn't understand, but her eyes were glued to the screen. Michael Jackson's music videos, on the other hand, are not for her. One time, she and the baby cat (photo below) were watching "Smooth Criminal" and "Thriller", both music videos I would consider a cinematic experience. These videos have some horror (mostly Thriller) which is something they are not okay with.
Smooth Criminal
Throughout the rest of the video, there didn't seem to be any horror.
- Loud, scary moaning
- Lights go dark
- Shadow figures, unrecognizable faces
- Group saying "Annie, you okay?" In a scary, concerned voice
Thriller
This was more of a synopsis, but at least you'll get some idea about the video. If you want me to do a bulleted list for Smooth Criminal, I'll definitely do it.
- Girl screaming when Michael turns into a werewolf
- Michael making scaring sounds while turning into a werewolf
- Michael werewolf chasing the girl, breaking a tree as he runs
- Michael dancing in a way that seems creepy and may discomfort the woman
- Fog?
- Walking past a cemetery at night
- Creatures come alive, exit from underground
- Although they act alive, they are still dead
- Creepy looking Michael throughout the video
- The whole video takes place at night
- I'll continue tomorrow
I'll have Grandma watch "Bad" tomorrow. It has no horror and it seems to take place during the day.
