Shock of my life.
I checked the cameras before going to bed (I am in a Timezone that is 5 hour ahead of my Princesses) and I was missing a chicken. Four on the roost and Tassels in her cage (busy hatching mini-dog crates).
Where was Sylvie.
My first thought is she went back to being broody before even restarting to lay eggs, but the cameras looking at the way in to the nest boxes did not show her. So then I worried she had died in the heat. But I saw her on camera time stamped 7pm and she looked pretty energetic.
Nothing I could do. Middle of the night in the US. Tried to distract myself here with various things.
And now, 20 minutes before dawn, there she is tucking in to a hearty breakfast.
Mystery.
I wonder where she spent the night!
My blood pressure is slowly returning to normal.

Netflix shouldn't even have ad breaks considering you're paying for it.

They dropped the charge for adverts but here's the catch. We had a choice of them raising their fee by £4 without the adverts or dropping the regular fee by £2 . Firstly as i only have a phone I didn't want the rise secondly , my future income is very fragile right now in uk.

Busy day here. Water has been shut off and I'm going to see 8f I can get food from somewhere. At least my animals have been fed and watered

Oh no, so sorry, but temperatures like that can kill embryos in a matter of minutes. For 7 hours? Those eggs might not be alive anymore.

That may be true - but I would candle them now...and then keep them in the incubator for a couple of days and candle again and see if there is change in development. I wouldn't automatically assume they have passed.....and, IF they live, such a short period in their incubation being so hot they might not have developmental issues. Probably you have had other comments - as, again, I am a number of pages behind - but please don't automatically assume the worst and chuck everything - get proof of passing first.

I candled yesterday and will again on Sunday. I figure if any survived they'll be clearly developing by then. The cochin eggs are so dark it's hard to see inside!

I am so thankful that I put 8 eggs under my broodies, but at the same time they are big enough they could have had one more each...I shouldn't think like that.

Here is one of the polish eggs, this one is under Morinth. The little shrimpy baby in there was a bit wiggly!
