I like that too. I'm coming over for my shareWow that’s swanky! Love your nest boxes. I think RC did the same thing with hers.
Re: meat - yep they love all meat, mine like roast beef mash potatoes and gravy![]()
Looks great. I did the same with some salvaged kitchen cabinets. It's a little disturbing how much chickens like poultry. I resisted giving them meat on the bone for the longest time. But now their run has its share of bones in it. Little feathered Piranha can strip a drumstick in minutes!
Speaking of which, they're almost sharing run space! View attachment 3913830
The new coop is coming slowly. Hubby's been under the weather, so I've been doing it alone. View attachment 3913831
Some wire is up and the door is nearly complete. It's slow work by myself.
But I'm quite proud of the nest boxes. Entirely too many for 7 hens, but I used old cabinets from a remodel. I left the doors on the backs, so I can just take eggs from the back and not go in. View attachment 3913841View attachment 3913842
I just wish it was done so I could get them moved.
You stuck to your guns! That works out if the store is honest. Good job on keeping them honest! The story of the mini coop….
So I had said earlier that I would post about the bargain I got on the little coop. Normally I would never buy something like this. It’s not the best materials around but is decently sturdy. And really only big enough for one full-grown hen, or maybe two bantams. It’s technically a tractor, but the way they did the wheels makes them basically useless. I had to make a few minor modifications, and still want to add one more place for ventilation in the coop part. Here are a few more pics.

When I saw it I couldn’t help but think that it would make a great hospital coop for Sassy, to let her get outside and still keep the other hens from picking on her. And it was. I also thought once she was goneit would make a great brooder or a way to let the littles outside before they are big enough that they won’t escape through the cattle panels. Which it definitely is.

Now here’s the best part. I probably wouldn’t have given it a second look except there was a sign saying 20% off all coops, and one by this coop that said $145. I noticed the sale sign said it was off the lowest price marked, and thought there was no way I could pass up getting something like that for only $116! When I went to pay for it, it rang up as $145 so I said no it’s supposed to be on sale. They said that was the sale price, that it is normally $170. At which point I showed them where the sale sign said it was off the lowest price marked and that they had it marked $145. Not my fault they were stupid and put the sale price on it. So I got it for the $116.
And that’s the story of the bargain I got on the mini coop.
Let me get this straight,I like that too. I'm coming over for my share
