I had eight of my chooks riding in my Lexus for a day. That was years ago.

Yesterday I found out Aurora had a really bad prolapse. I tried to shove it back in but she had pooped in her body cavity. There is about an inch of guts outside her cloaca. She does not seem to be lethargic but since she pooped inside I am sure it will get infected. Also it may happen again. I got her inside the barn because the wasps were tormenting her. Today she will be put down because I don't have the heart to let her go on suffering, because, even though I put honey on her vent to keep it from drying out, she went and scratched around in the wood shavings and got wood shavings all over her guts.
Goodbye Aurora, my only Easter Egger.

Well I didn't sell anything at the market today. I did get to hold and cuddle a 3 month old splash marans cockerel, he fell asleep on me for a while.

This was my table set up, it was breezy so I left the canopy at home.

Pretty boys

Their owner and I had a long chat about them, the one roo is a silkie/cream legbar mix and he was GORGEOUS. His name was Benedict. If I didn't have a little fella growing up in my coop I would have taken him in a heartbeat. Or one of the marans boys. I hope they find good homes soon. I have her info to get some legbar mix eggs in the future...she also showed me a legbar silkie mix that looked really similar to Morinth. She also lays a minty green egg...maybe that's a clue to the mix...
