When I use my breaker crate, I use the plastic pan as a cover over the top, secured with bungee cords.Maybe put a blanket over the top of the crate to stop her from trying to get out that way.
Yes. I have done the same. When I use my breaker crate, I use the plastic pan as a cover over the top, secured with bungee cords.
I use it upside down so that the large openings are at the top, not the bottom. That way, the chicken has more secure footing, because the crate is up on 2x4s. The food/water is more secure on the small openings too.
Ok I am gonna hid under a chair now - was actually thinking Leghorn…..
Hahaha - poor GrandmaPony, quit chicken watching. Here's the last part you've anticipated.
Part 12 of the doctor trip.
Grandma has been fed up with the doctor since she got there. The doctor is fed up with Grandma since she isn't that good of a listener. Grandma confronted the doctor saying that she isn't a real doctor and the doctor went into an outburst saying that she is a real doctor but what kind of doctor wears a black Coachella Valley shirt? So the doctor confesses that they were, in fact, not a real doctor but rather the owner was Grandma's "doctor" this whole time. Grandma's owner figured that being a human doctor for a chicken was not worth it but Grandma smelling like eucalyptus sure was.
Took the words right out of my mouthFascinating as this tech conversation is (or isn’t) to the rest of us, tax is owing on these posts.
@Ponypoor agreed. Keep Mr and Mrs Little Chicken. As far as Bert, Rosario, and Clyde, partly off of which one the ladies like, partly off which one people want.I think you should keep Mr. & Mrs. Little Chicken. I am still convinced that once he understands he can't take on any other roosters he will escape upwards and be fine.
Oh I feel for you! The first full summer I had the hens, I had Buttercup, Whiskers, Misty, and Dorothy all broody at the same time! I just left them, hauling each of their butts off the nest twice a day. Each was over 4 weeks broody and took the whole summer to get through!UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Nope. Not Calypso who is still in her jail cage raging at me and trying to pick the lock.
It is Tassels. AGAIN!
I think this is the 5th time this summer and she is impossible to break. She is a much more pleasant broody than Calypso. No armor required. But she is stubborn as all hell.
I will leave her be until Calypso has seen the error of her ways. But good grief this lady gets it bad!
