I have a zero tolerance policy too!I've also heard of zero tolerance policies so that even if you are defending yourself you still are in trouble because you were fighting, even if it was for your life.
You said shackle and I thought you were into something new?Meant Hackle (neck) feathers- was likely thinking saddle feathers and just added the two together![]()
It's not just public schools that brush off parents. I had my kids in private Christian school & the same apathy existed there also. Most school systems seem to have the same standoffish atmosphere & hide their internal problems from parents as much as possible and if they are questioned will treat you as if YOU are the troublemaker.I never gave a update on how yesterday went. I am sorry I needed to take a minute to breath and calm down. I have been mad since Friday. Yesterday I was livid and the closet I have ever came to loosing it in my life. Having had overnight to think about it, I do not recognize this new me, and I do not like this new me. But if it what it takes to see that my daughter is protected so be it.
The dentist did NOTHING!! She needs a root canal and now I have to take her to Lexington Wednesday to have it done. I have to have her there at 7:30 am and we are 3 hours away. 4 hours in that office, and they do nothing. She did keep her out of school for the rest of this week.
We then went to the high school. Rosie has stated from day 1 that she did not like her principal. In all her years she has never once been sent to the principals office so she had no reason not to like him. I have chalked it up to teenage drama and told her she did not have to like him but respect him. No, he is flat out rude and I do not like him myself after 10 minutes. He would not answer any questions about the incident other then to say it was appropriately handled. Told her she should drop her AP Pre-calculus because she would get behind with missing a week. I snapped and told him no she was not as it was not her fault she was in this position. Brushed off the questions about the police report and said we would have to go to the county court house to get that information. He did not feel filing charges would be appropriate as she was a innocent by-stander and not the target. The UK Dental clinic I have to take her to does not take her insurance so just to sign in I have to have $125.00 up front plus additional charges. Informed him of this and how the school or the girls parents would be responsible. His reply, "Good Luck". I left his office fuming but was stopped by the guidance counselor who assured Rosie she did not have to drop any of her classes and the teachers would work with her.
After we left the school we found out "appropriate punishment" is 1 week suspension, that is it. The boys parents called us yesterday evening. They were treated the same way yesterday morning. Tried to shift blame onto him. We are meeting up today at the court house. Charges are being filed and someone is taking responsibility for this.
She might have to get a lawyer for further assistance with this case. That is appalling.
I suspect in the end you won’t get much joy via the courts, but I certainly don’t blame you for trying.
But the attitude of the Principal is totally unacceptable. WTH?
Does this kid have a history of issues? If so, the school may be liable for not keeping Rosie and the boy safe.
Poor you. Poor Rosie.
I really hope you can get someone to deal with her tooth and the pain ASAP.

I hear owners dispatch egg eaters before other birds pick up the habit? The little carnivores!Another 2fer. This cannot be good!
Calypso came running out hotly pursued by Piglet. Calypso was carrying one of Tassels’ eggs in her mouth. The egg was broken and she was gripping it by the hole in the shell.
She then dropped it on the ground and slurped it up with great enjoyment.
How did she get a hold of one of Tassels’ egg? I hope stealing and eating eggs doesn’t become a habit!
