Thank you but next Saturday is my Birthday. I love the horse shows do not get me wrong. But this year I have just about gotten fed up. The last 3 shows we have been slammed, and instead of 3 concession workers it has just been me and mom. We are both reaching our limit and for me this could very well be my last season working it. Trust me, I can think of a million better ways to celebrate turning 40 instead of killing myself.
That is sad 😔!
I remember my 40th birthday. That was over 20 years ago. How time flies !

Bob would be fine with it, but HRH Queen Aurora does not feel Silkies and Polish are real chickens.

But I think she is ok with mine as they do play pink eggs, the colour of Royalty.

Fluffy, Henny and Curly’s eggs today

I’m in agreement with HRH Queen Aurora. Silkies are not chickens.
They are feather dusters :D

Mud and Cocoa are fighting over Nyx, who is happily dust bathing. So funny. Silkies don't have big hackles to flare haha.

I love the bow they do when they're trying to intimidate the other. Nyx is right behind the pole, ignoring them.

I wonder how she feels of other breeds? Because I can understand her feelings. Silkies are MUPPETS and polish are POMPOMS just ask my 3 year old.
I love that age when little kids can speak to me in full sentences.
At Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, under the docks, my daughter was three years old and yelled in excitement “hey dad, doggies!” She was talking about the sea lions 🦭

I wonder how many times I'd need to breed back and forth (breed wise, not to direct relatives) a brahma or cochin to get big ol fluffy silkies? Because I don't care about breed purity, I just want a giant teddybird.
It's a long waiting process breeding to get the desired results but you're young enough to wait on each breeding hatch & what to do w/the extra cockerels.

Personally I love Cochins just as they are. Our 1st two chickens were going to be bantam Cochins but our homeschool friend hatched beautiful partridge Silkie babiess & that was it. We've always had Silkies since then.

My birthday is next Friday! Virgos rule! :) I've got 21 years on you though. But 40 was one of my best birthdays ever! I got an "I'm not old damit!" tattoo and my husband took me to my favorite restaurant for dinner. Really, the whole year was pretty good! May yours be the same.

The coop is done!

At least done enough for now. The ladies are moving in tonight!!! The pop door is still covered, but 2 minutes and a hand saw will finish cutting the hole. The hardware cloth on the windows is only temporary. We are headed an hour away to buy the necessary 4' wide hardware cloth and the trim for outside the windows. We can finish them tomorrow and the run, hopefully. It should be cool enough the next 2-3 days that keeping everyone "cooped up" will be safe!

Enjoy that little space Reds...it's the last day you get!
