You're right! Butterbirds because they're as soft as butter on the counter.
Funny story I was obsessed as a toddler with eating butter. Mom said "I better not see any fingerprints in the butter!"
Next time she caught me, I was facefirst in the butter dish with my hands out behind me. Hey, I didn't leave any fingerprints!!!

This is a long thread, but it seems that there indeed are giant silkies.

I was just a bit turned off of the giant Silkie project only cuz they want broilers & we're not into eating birds ~ especially sweet-natured breeds like Brahmas & Silkies.

Yep! A decade ago it was $10,000 to import into the USA a bird plus housing fees for the quarantine period. W/ worldwide panic controls re AI it's probably a lot more difficult & costly now.
