My phone won't let me cut out this picture. Hundreds of pounds and ongoing. Money for what
Homes are money pits! Doors warp, plumbing starts to leak, windows let rain water leak in, floors chip, electrical wiring frays, stucco peels away, wood rots, kitchens & bathrooms need fixing every 10 yrs or sooner, should I go on? We remodeled our 65 yr old cottage in 2010 & in 2024 at 79 yr old home there's been massive problems w/ the new stuff already! Toilet replaced twice, kitchen granite top cracking, new patio roof repaired twice & still leaking, oh, I better stop! Too much to bore you all!

Tx

You are a very unlucky person to experience such disappointment

When we lived in California there would be pipe leaks every so often. I don't think there were any for around the 2 years before we moved, but we were on a hill and I think the settling of the house caused quite a bit of leakage.

Back in 1980 we bought a brand new home, watched it being built from the foundation on up & it appalled us at the shoddy materials & workmanship. Many homes in the tract had crooked ceilings, warped walls, broken bath fixtures, leaking plumbing, sink holes in their yards, golf balls flying thru the air breaking windows (from the neighboring golf course), etc. Again, I'm boring you! Darwin got it wrong ~ things on this planet don't evolve upwards/better ~ it devolves/downward w/ everything deteriorating!

I digress ~ Tx

I have a contractors license as well as my other life achievements. I have supervised the construction of many houses. It’s the sub-contractors hiring non-skilled workers that causes this situation

Yep! The area makes a difference too ~ how many city/county inspectors on hand to catch construction site errors after each step of construction!
